Embracing Your Worth: A Journey from Fear to Freedom
Dear beautiful souls,
Today, I want to share a sincere message about a journey that so many of us are on – a journey from fear to freedom, from paralysis to empowerment, from ‘waiting for life to happen’ to ‘actively creating a life filled with joy and passion’, from fogginess to clarity. This message is especially for those who may be struggling in silence, grappling with self-worth, fear of rejection, and a deep yearning to follow your passion.
For the longest time, I too was caught in a whirlwind of fears and doubts. I dreamt of embracing my wildest dreams, of living a life that was truly mine, yet I found myself paralyzed, like my feet were stuck in the stickiest, gluey-est, blackest gunk! I was waiting – waiting for the 'right' moment, the green light, someone else's approval or condonement, in sum I was waiting for a sign that I was worth it. But here's the beautiful truth I've discovered: we can't wait for life to change; we must be the change.
Getting in Touch with Your Body
The first step in this transformative journey is to get in touch with our bodies. Trauma is stored in somatic memory and is expressed through an individual’s unique response to stress. Our bodies are not just physical entities; they are the sacred temples of our soul, our emotions, our deepest truths. Through yoga and mindfulness, I learned to listen to my body, to understand its language of sensations and feelings. It was in this listening that I began to hear the whispers of my self-worth, my value, and my strength.
Discovering Your Worth
Each one of us is born with an inherent worth that is undeniable and infinite. Yet, along the way, life's experiences might make us question this. How are you doing along your walk of gentle self-discovery? Through breathwork and meditation, we can begin to peel away the layers of fear and self-doubt. We can start to see ourselves not as we have perceived we are through societal messages, but as we truly are – worthy, capable, and deserving of all that is good.
Releasing Fearful Stories
We all have stories that we tell ourselves, stories that often stem from fear – fear of not being enough, fear of rejection. These stories can keep us from living our fullest life. Imagine what could happen if you softly released these stories. What if you replaced them with narratives of love, self-acceptance, and courage? This shift is not just possible; it is essential for growth and well-being. Visualization is a pillar in this transformation.
Making a Conscious Decision
